On Tap: 2009 Message Series for Project Church

If you’re like me, you like to have an idea of where you’re going.  So I thought I’d give you all an inside look at the message series that are planned for Project Church in 2009.

In addition to these, we will have some stand-alone messages and other surprises throughout the year.  But this is pretty much where we’re going this year and I couldn’t be more excited.  We’re currently in the middle of a series titled, Your Calling is Calling.  From the feedback I’ve received, it’s been a meaningful series so far.

Let’s take a look at what else is on tap this year.

Gospel/Sex/Dream/Love
A frank discussion on dating, marriage, & sexuality

In February we’re taking a no-holds barred look at marriage, singleness, sex, and more through the lens of the Gospel.  We may push the envelope a bit in this one but I think churches should be leading these discussions.

The Elephant in the Church

In march, we kick-off this interactive series where people can post their questions on topics they would like to see covered in our church.  We are particularly interested in topics most churches shy away from.  We will choose the most common questions for the series. It should be quite interesting to see what folks come up with.  Special thanks to NCC for sharing this idea and graphic.

Counter-Culture: A Road trip though Matthew- in Reverse

We are going to spend the majority of the year going through an exposition of the Gospel of Matthew.  We’re starting in Matthew 28 (Easter) and ending in Matthew 1 (Christmas) signifying how the Kingdom of God (and the way of Jesus) is often against the grain of convential thinking and living. We’ll also add creative elements throughout to keep things fresh.  I’m really looking forward to this one.

Let me know what you think? Do any of these particularly stand-out to you?
