Hiccups
I don’t know about you, but for me, hiccups come at the worst times and are humbling experiences.
I remember being on a date in high school and trying to be all smooth and then I got a case of the hiccups that seemed to never end. There went my mojo. Another time I was in a job interview and then the hiccups came and made it sound like we were at a basketball game with all the squeaky shoe sounds coming out of my mouth. Nothing says, “hire me” like a good case of the hiccups.
I don’t know why we hiccup but I assume we will implode or something if we never get a good hiccup going.
The term “hiccup” describes a small interruption in an otherwise consistent pattern.
It’s hard to plan a hiccup, in fact, they often have really bad timing. Kinda like your cell phone going off during business time.
But we need hiccups in our lives. They remind us to stop and look around. Help us not take our blessings for granted. They keep us on our toes. They keep us humble.
So what I guess I’m trying to say is this- embrace the hiccup. When things come up that disrupt the rhythm of your life, it might not be such a bad thing. God has a way of doing that you know. I’ve found some of the best things in my life weren’t according to plan.
And if you don’t like the story your life is telling, change things up. A little hiccup may be just what you need.
