Write it Down

Tuesday, September 2nd, 2008 | All, Life

I’m often amazed at my capacity to dream big in my head.  But getting it out of my head is another story. The moment I go to write it down I get stuck like a fat guy in a crawl space.

Writing down a dream on paper is an epic battle where a vision clashes with reality. I encountered this not too long ago when I wrote down the vision of Project Church.  Where I see us in 6 months, 1 year, 3 years, and 10 years from now. It was a bit scary writing it down because I realized that the dream in my head could actually happen in real life.

There are lots of ideas, dreams, and goals floating around out there.   What bums me out is when they remain just that- a floater.  I believe our lives are filled with so much potential and it’s a terrible tragedy to have a wasted dream.  I often wonder how many opportunities I’ve missed out on by not acting on what God has put in my head and heart.

My challenge to you and I today is to write it down. Got a crazy idea? Right it down.  Got a dream much larger than yourself? Write it down.  Do you have a goal that you wish you could accomplish? Write it down.

I can’t promise you it will happen but I can tell you it’s the next step in discovering if it will.

Right on! Our children can be wonderful teachers. This is definitely an area that my kiddos teach me often. There seems to be some point in life when we ditch our God-given, no limits, imaginations to be boring realistic adults. So glad you are defying that and can’t wait to see the dream God’s planted in you take shape! Praying for you this week as you approach your big launch.

Kids are great for teaching adults lessons. That’s been my experience too.

Thanks for the prayers and encouragement Courtney.
